Living History and other things

It's been a long time since i last updated my journal (one year to be honest - shame on me! ^^; ).
So now, finally, you can enjoy a new version in CSS.

Living History - Breisgau-Alamannen-Gruppe

During the last 18 months i have been engaged in an extremely interesting living history/experimental archaeology project in south-western Germany. It mostly consists of archaeologists and some laymen and its target is to demonstrate the manual skills and to show the lifestyle of the early Alammanic tribes (Migration period, 4th/5th century) in that region. We have people who do bone/antler-carvings, leatherworks, woodworks, textile techniques (such as sewing, weaving, spinning, tablet-weaving, naalebinding, finger-looping, sprang, feltmaking...), smithing, beadmaking, goldsmithing, bowshooting, rune-teaching, cooking... And i'm responsable for plant-dyeing. That's also why you already got to see and still will be getting to see more of these dyeing-experiments. And i will keep you up-to-date with my latest projects in living history!

You aren't Icelandic yourself, are you? Well I thought it was an interesting fact that I am and I lived in Luxembourg some years ago.

Ciao Fabienne,

Ciao & liebe Grüße, Miou B-)
